One killed after crashing on Hwy 111
The Rancho Mirage Police Department is investigating the cause of a deadly crash that happened early Thursday morning on Highway 111 near Paxton Drive.
Officers arrived to the scene around 1:10 a.m. and saw one vehicle in the center median. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver’s name isn’t being released until family is notified.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing at this time; it’s unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
