Palm Desert man identified after deadly crash in Indio
Authorities are investigating the cause of a deadly car crash Tuesday night after a 22-year-old man struck a utility pole on Indio Boulevard before colliding with a building.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the man Thursday as Jorge Rodriguez of Palm Desert.
Officers said the crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. on the 83-700 block of Indio Blvd. Rodriguez was driving a red Toyota Camry westbound when the car somehow left the roadway and struck a utility pole on the north side of the road.
According to police, the car continued moving until it crashed into a commercial building nearby. Rodriguez died at the scene.
Officers said the building was moderately damaged from the impact of the crash.
