SoCal opens APFL season with 21-19 win

The SoCal Coyotes were excited to be back in the desert and acting as the flagship franchise of the new AAA Professional Football League and gave the league a glimpse of what’s in store for fans, competitors, and potential franchises to join the fun.

SoCal opened the spring football season against the California Sharks with a 21-19 win.

Former Palm Springs football standout Michael Karls led the way, throwing for two touchdown passes in the Coyotes first two possessions of the game.

Both connections were hauled in by wideout Billy Eichman, who was celebrating his birthday.

The Sharks cut the lead to 21-19 with less than three minutes to play in the game, but failed on the two-point conversion to tie the game. SoCal ran out the clock for the victory.

The Coyotes next game is at home against the Arizona Scorpions on Saturday, April 18th at 7pm at Palm Springs High School.
