Re-trial date set in Vanderbuilt rape case

A new start date is now set in the rape case at Vanderbilt University involving Indio Native and former Valley football player Brandon Vandenburg.

Vandenburg and his co-defendant Cory Batey will be re-tried on november 30th. Both former Vanderbilt football players had been convicted of raping an unconscious student, but last month a judge declared a mistrial.

It came after a juror in the case withheld information that he was a victim of statutory rape.

Vandenburg, Batey and two other former players are accused of raping an unconscious student in a dorm room in june 2013.
