Major road work will close roads in La Quinta
A few roads will be closed in La Quinta on Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. as the city works on a pavement recycling project to rehabilitate the roads.
City officials said Washington Street will be completely closed from Avenue 50 to Avenue 52, including the intersection of Calle Tampico and Washington Street. Avenue 52 will remain open to eastbound and westbound traffic only.
Calle Tampico will also be closed between Washington Street and the old Ralph’s entrance across from City Hall (traffic can use Desert Club or Avenida Bermudas for detours).
Washington Street and Calle Tampico will reopen on Friday night and should remain open through the weekend, according to the city. Officials ask Tradition residents to please use the east construction gate during the closure.
Final paving is scheduled for Thursday, November 19 and Friday, November 20 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Avenida La Fonda will be closed from Monday, November 9 through Friday, November 13 between Washington Street and the south City Hall parking lot entrance. You can still use the south entrance.
