La Quinta man rescued from cliff in Santa Barbara
A 34-year old La Quinta man is safe after he was found hanging from a cliff in Santa Barbara Monday afternoon.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department says a couple found a man hanging upside down from a rope tied around his calf around 2:00 p.m. Monday.
The couple and firefighters helped cut him loose.
The man told authorities he had been hanging upside down since about 1:00 a.m..
It’s not clear how he got into that position.
Authorities haven’t released his identity.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
