Man accused of credit card fraud & burglary

A 42-year-old Cathedral City man was recently arrested in Cabazon, accused of attempting to use a stolen credit card before running from deputies Sunday morning.

Deputies with the Cabazon Station said they received a call from a business located in the 48600 block of Seminole Drive tipping them off to the alleged credit card fraud. They found Juan Jose Gonzalez walking down Seminole Drive and he ran from deputies.

He was caught immediately. After searching his vehicle, authorities said they found additional items that were purchased with the stolen credit card.

Gonzalez was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on charges of fraud and burglary, according to the sheriff’s release.

Anyone who may have more information about the investigation is asked to call Deputy T. Miller with the Cabazon Station at (951) 922-7100.
