Desert Hot Springs police announced an early morning drug bust in the city Tuesday.

Police said they arrested Manuel Cruz Villarreal, 46, early Tuesday morning after stopping his white 1992 Toyota Tercel. They said they found 25-grams of what they believed to be was heroin inside, also more than 13-pounds of marijuana.

The traffic stop was at Buena Vista Avenue and Cactus Drive at 12:48 a.m.

Officers booked Villarreal at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on possession of marijuana for sale, possession of heroin for sale, and transportation of a controlled substance.

No bail had been set, nor court date Tuesday morning.
