2 tree trimmers die after being electrocuted in Thermal

Two tree trimmers were killed in Thermal Saturday after the crane they were operating to cut palm fronds made contact with power lines and caught fire.

The coroner’s office identified one of the victims on Thursday, March 17.

CAL FIRE says the incident was reported at 10:54 a.m. in the 68600 block of HarrisonStreet.

The crane’s bucket touched nearby power lines, and leaking oil from thevehicle ignited a fire. The crane was fully involved with flames.
