Police search for driver of deadly hit and run
Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a deadly hit and run crash in Coachella. Around 12.30 this morning, the Riverside County Sheriffs Department received a report of a hit and run accident at the intersection of Avenue 48 and Harrison Street.
When deputies arrived on scene they found a woman in the road, dead.
A 56-year-old female transient was hit by a pickup tuck on Avenue 48 and Grapefruit Boulevard.
It is believed the suspect’s vehicle sustained front end damage. The investigation is on going.
