Desert Hot Springs organization offers free healing sound baths
“It’s really hard to explain, but you have a connection with the sound.”
Sound baths don’t involve water, but are believed to have healing abilities for individuals looking for deeper levels of relaxation and healing from trauma, insomnia, and depression.
At Cielo Sober Living, sound baths are a method of recovery.
Michele Garcia is the founder of Cielo Sober Living, which houses clients looking for addiction treatment and holds programming designed to bring closer to what Garcia calls their natural state.
Programming incorporates animals, nature and education motivated by spiritual psychology.
Garcia says sound baths allow clients to clear any negative energies that are locked in their bodies.
She offers baths practically for free every week, but asks guests to bring a small offering of food or flowers.
“Depending upon how you are emotionally and spiritually, the sound actually draws some of the things out that you have,” says Daniel Marquez, who’s been using sound healing for over a year, “If you’re going through stuff it actually will enhance that and help you grieve or celebrate.”
