All lanes of I-10 reopen after big rig overturns near Monterey Ave

The California Highway Patrol has reopened all lanes of I-10 near Monterey Avenue after issuing a SIG ALERT following a big rig crash Tuesday just after 11 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol was expecting to have the lanes back open at about 1:15 to 1:30 p.m., but sent out an alert at 1 p.m. saying the big rig had been removed from I-10 and all of the debris was cleared.

The big rig overturned, blocking three eastbound lanes and sent debris into the westbound lanes of the interstate.

CHP issued a SIG ALERT around 11:30 a.m.

CHP officers were working to clear the wreckage from the roadway and said the big rig had been up-righted and moved to the center divider at about 12:45 p.m.

The big rig driver sustained minor injuries in the rollover and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. KESQ and CBS Local 2 will have more information as soon as it’s available.
