2 San Bernardino school district employees charged with $71K iPad theft
Two San Bernardino City Unified School District employees accused of stealing $71,000 worth of iPads and computer laptops have been charged.
Authorities said 34-year-old Andrew Schultz of Monrovia and 48-year-old Eric Buries of Rancho Cucamonga were each charged with one felony count of embezzlement exceeding $950.
Colette Schultz, the 33-year-old wife of Andrew Schultz, was also charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property with a value exceeding $950 for her role in the scheme, deputies said in a release.
Both Andrew and Eric are accused of stealing iPads and computers while they were working for the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Then they sold the stolen items through Craig’s List or by pawning them, authorities said.
Authorities said all three defendants are expected to be arraigned on Monday, August 29 at the San Bernardino Justice Center.
