La Quinta AMPM robbed at gunpoint

The La Quinta Police Department is investigating a Monday night armed robbery at the AMPM convenience store located at 46150 Washington Street.

Officers were called to the store at 7:43 p.m. after the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun and stole money from the register. The suspect was last seen running east behind the shopping center, according to police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, about 20 to 25 years old, approximately 5’08” tall, with a medium build. According to the release, he was wearing a black baseball hat, dark pants, a long-sleeve white shirt underneath a dark colored short-sleeve button-up shirt.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Investigator Lopez with the Thermal Sheriff’s Station at 760-863-8990.
