Desert Hot Springs launches new online community calendar
Residents in Desert Hot Springs will now have an easier time knowing what’s happening in their city thanks to a new online community calendar, DHSDaily. The website will aggregate everything that is going on in the city and was launched Tuesday.
The website was developed by a local firm called BurkeMedia Productions. Michael Burke, said the website would be easy to use and allow anyone to post an event that is happening in the city or is involving the city.
“This is the go-to place for our community members to see what’s going on in town,” Burke said.
Mayor Scott Matas said he was aware of the city receiving bad press from time to time, but he said the community calendar was one way to change perceptions about the city and allow residents to come together to help create a better city.
“There’s lot of potential in Desert Hot Springs and in the next year or so, you’re going to see a lot of change,” he said.
One resident felt the website was a good idea.
“I think it will be quite helpful,” Fiona Cairns said. “I think it will be good for the businesses that have things going on to let people know what’s on when.”
The community calendar can be accessed here.
