Measure HH passes with 53 percent

A vote to change Cathedral City to a charter city, Measure HH has passed with 53 percent.

The measure, will have City Council members take turns performing the duties of the city’s mayor.

In previous newscasts we erroneously reported that the measure required 55 percent to pass, but according to a Cathedral City spokesman it only needed more than 50 percent of the vote.

Other charter cities around the Coachella valley include Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage.
