CVUSD Superintendent resigning
Coachella Valley Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Darryl Adams is resigning. The following statement was issued by Board President Maria Machuca after a special board of trustees meeting Wednesday night dealing with the district’s ongoing contract dispute with teachers: “On behalf of the governing board, this letter is to inform you that during closed session tonight, the Board accepted Dr. Adams’ resignation from the District effective December 31, 2016. Until then, Dr. Adams will remain on a medical leave of absence. The Board took action to appoint Mr.Gregory Fromm as Acting Superintendent and directed him to work with the Riverside County Office of Education to seek recommendations for an interim superintendent for the Board’s consideration at next week’s regularly scheduled meeting. As you know this is a significant period of transition for our District. We appreciate all of your work, support and effort in continuing the unquestionably important privilege and responsibility of educating our students.”
