7 pedestrians struck by car at LA Convention Center

Seven pedestrians were struck by a vehicle near the Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles Monday afternoon. Paramedics were sent to the 1200 block of South Figueroa Street about 1:15 p.m., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The pedestrians were on or near a sidewalk when they were injured, Humphrey said. Their conditions were not immediately known.

The Convention Center is the site of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The orange car had a sign on its driver’s side door reading, “Drive Today! At The Auto Show.”

The driver of the car remained at the scene, and was being interviewed by police.
