Hazmat team clears suspicious device outside Thermal Sheriff’s Station
The Thermal Sheriff’s Station reopened to the public at 12 p.m. Tuesday following a Hamat investigation into a suspicious device found outside the station early Tuesday morning.
According to Deputy Armando Munoz with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the hazardous device team gave the all clear after determining the device was non destructive. The public is allowed to go back inside the Thermal Sheriff’s Station now that the investigation is complete.
Cal Fire and a Hazmat team are leading the investigation.
Deputy Munoz with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the Thermal station is closed to the public at this time, but the building wasn’t evacuated and the station is still operating normally.
