Coachella Valley residents protesting President Trump
Residents across the country have been voicing their concerns about President Donald Trump.
Almost 100 people were arrested Friday in protests against Trump.
Friday, the weather didn’t rain on local protesters’ plans in Palm Springs.
Groups including women and the LGBT community are addressing issues they have about the new commander-in-chief.
“I work very closely with adults and children who are disabled my whole life,” Anti-Trump protester Krista Monahan said. “And the fact that he was able to mock a disabled man on public television very clearly in front of millions of people, and be able to get away with it, and still be our President is disgusting to me.”
Organizers said protests against President Trump are expected to continue into this weekend at places like Civic Center Park in Palm Desert.
“Donald Trump needs to stop, and this administration needs to stop referring to us as the other people,” Anti-Trump protester Richard Noble said. “We are the Americans that he is talking about.”
Protesters also gathered Friday at Veterans Park in Coachella.
The protest at Civic Center Park is expected to start at 10:30 a.m.
