Fitz and the Tantrums play CareerBuilder Challenge concert

After a beautiful day Saturday at the CareerBuilder Challenge in La Quinta, the fun didn’t stop at the end of the round.

Dozens came out Saturday night for a concert at PGA West featuring the Los Angeles based indie-pop band Fitz and the Tantrums.

CareerBuilder Challenge officials said the concert was something new offered this year as part of the tournament’s Golf and Guitars theme.

It was free to anyone who bought a ticket for Saturday’s round.

“I think they’re a great group,” Jason Morales said. “First time I’ve ever heard them before, and they’re a really, really good group. It was never a dull moment.”

The band took a moment to also thank the Obama family for their service in Washington D.C., and welcomed the former first family to the Coachella Valley for their first vacation out of office.
