BIGHORN BAM celebrates 10th anniversary

The Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert hosted “A Night of Miracles” Saturday, raising funds to help Coachella Valley residents living with cancer.

Many gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Bighorn Behind a Miracle, or BAM.

The night included silent and live auctions, dinner, and live music.

BAM founder and cancer survivor Selby Dunham said she started the organization with a purpose of helping locals battling cancer, by offering services to help with living expenses, and provide transportation for treatments.

“When I was going through my radiation, I met a gal whom I found out took the bus from Indio for her daily radiation,” Dunham said. “And I was truly floored. I could not believe that she would have to do that. So, one of my goals when BAM started was to provide transportation for people that need help. That don’t have the support system.”

Dunham said this past decade, BAM has so far raised $6.5 million, and has supported 300 families affected by cancer.
