Crews work to restore power to intersection after car crash

Emergency crews are working to repair a stoplight at the intersection of Gene Autry Trail and Via Escuela in Palm Springs after a car crashed into the electrical box Tuesday afternoon.

Palm Springs Police sent out an alert stating that people were also without power, but we discovered that the stoplight at the intersection was the only thing without power. Homes in the area had power, and there was no notice of an outage reported by S.C.E.

Crews have put out temporary stop signs at the very busy intersection. Palm Springs Police say the driver was not injured during the crash and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
