Highway 62 / I-10 ramp closure to continue nightly through Friday

People who drive down the Coachella Valley from the high desert communities of Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms will have to continue to navigate a week of nightly freeway closure detours.

Crews are working to complete concrete repairs on the State Highway 62 connector ramp to the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10. They say they planned to reopen the ramp by 7:15 a.m. Tuesday morning but finished early. However, the nightly closures are expected to continue through Friday.

Drivers will have to continue to detour off the 62 to Dillon Road, North Indian Canyon Drive, then back onto Interstate 10 through Friday

The update means motorists will not have to detour off the 62, to Dillon Road, North Indian Canyon Drive, then back onto Interstate 10 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. through Friday.

Caltrans Detour Suggestion:

From eastbound 62, use I-10 westbound, exit Tipton Road, turn left onto Tipton Road, and turn right onto I-10 eastbound on-ramp.
