Accused Deputy shooter arrested in Mexicali
The man accused of shooting a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy after a pursuit has been captured in Mexico.

Gildardo Davila, 27, is a known gang member and he’s been on the run for almost one week.
He’s accused of shooting the deputy six times.
Davila is charged with attempted murder on a peace officer assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest, possession of controlled substances and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, in connection with the May 25 deputy shooting.
Reports state he was caught near Mexicali by local police.
KESQ had reported that Davila has family in Mexico and investigators were looking at the likelihood that he would flee to Mexico.
Davila had just returned from a trip to Mexico about a month ago.
