Two separate big rigs overturn on I-10E , one lane blocked

California Highway Patrol responded to two separate semi truck accidents blocking lanes on the I-10E just after 1:00 a.m. at Eagle Mountain Rd. and Red Cloud Mine Rd. between Chiriaco Summit and Desert Center on Saturday.

When officials arrived to each scene, the semis were both on their side. The semi truck on Eagle Mountain Rd. appeared to have been carrying cases of water bottles, as a number of cases were scattered across the eastbound lanes. It is not known if any other cars were involved. The condition of the driver is unavailable at this time.

The semi truck at Red Cloud Mine Rd. was carrying beer cases. Crews are working to clear the scene. One person in the truck suffered minor injuries. It is not known if any additional people were in the truck. A tow truck and tour bus were also involved in the accident. We’re working to find out the conditions of those involved.

By 4:00 a.m. crews were able to reopen the No. 1 lane. The No. 2 lane opened at 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
