Armed carjacking along Interstate 10 near Bob Hope Drive

The Riverside County Sheriff’s department was still searching for two suspects Monday morning following an armed carjacking along Interstate 10 in Cathedral City.

Deputies said the incident happened around 3 p.m. on Sunday, just east of Bob Hope Drive along the eastbound freeway lanes.

The suspects were described as two adult Hispanic men in their 20’s. The first suspect was described as 5’5,” 120 pounds and last seen wearing a white shirt and black pants.

The second suspect was described as 5’9,”175 pounds and last seen wearing a white shirt and camouflage pants.

The stolen vehicle was a tan Kia with license plates reading 7HBD759.

Deputies said the KIA’s driver wasn’t injured, but he was held up at gunpoint.

The investigation was ongoing.
