Border Patrol: Cocaine, heroin found in truck’s fuel tank

A man was arrested at the Highway 86 checkpoint after dogs alerted agents to about 30 pounds of drugs in a truck’s fuel tank, officials say.

The 22-year-old was driving a white 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck when he was stopped for inspection on Saturday afternoon.

Border Patrol agents say they found the following drugs concealed in the fuel tank:

25.39 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $380,850 1.97 pounds of black tar heroin, with an estimated street value of $21,670 3.45 pounds of Mexican brown heroin, with an estimated street value of $32,775

According to a release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Drug Enforcement Administration took custody of the suspected smuggler and the drugs.
