Rancho Mirage’s Owen McIntosh named California HS Girls Tennis Coach of the Year

McIntosh was recently recognized in the state’s capital city as the 2017 high school girls tennis coach of the year after leading the Rattlers to a CIF Division 5 championship.

As head coach for the boys and girls teams at RMHS, McIntosh helped guide the Rattler girls to a perfect 21-0 season, capped off by the first CIF championship in program and school history.

“It’s fantastic, McIntosh said. “It’s something I never anticipated to happen when I decided to start coaching. All I cared about was teaching these kids how to play tennis and to be recognized after winning the championship and watching these kids grow and develop is just icing on the cake and a big bonus.”

McIntosh just finished his 3rd season as the head tennis coach at Rancho Mirage.
