Officers rewards kids with free Slurpees in Operation Chill

Some officers with the Cathedral City Police Department are doing a different type of “ticketing” around town this month. They are rewarding kids with free Slurpees in encouraging them to do good and to beat the summer heat.

The coupons were provided through the outreach program Operation Chill. It’s a partnership between 7-11 and various law enforcement agencies across the country. Officers say It’s a way to positively engage with the local community.
