A local art gallery reopens after a fire tore through parts of the store

An art gallery in Palm Springs is open for the first time since flames tore through part of it early August.

Shag The Store, is now open from 10-5 everyday in a temporary location right next door to its original space on North Palm Canyon.

Owners tell News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2, after the reconstruction project, the store will be three times its current size or about 3,000 square feet.

“We’ll have a lot of new prints and new merchandise, so a lot of good will come out of this and it’s just good to be open again,” said sales manager Jeffrey McCall.

The official grand opening of the store is expected in late October during Palm Spring’s Modernism Week.
