Sunnylands panel explores cultural ceremonies around the world

Celebrations of death aren’t uncommon in cultures throughout the world. Some examples include the New Orleans jazz funeral or Dia de Los Muertos in Mexico.

How various cultures celebrate death through ceremony is the topic of a new Sunnylands series.

Kristel Lailblin, the executive producer of the popular Netflix series, “13 Reasons Why” is one of three panelists who will explore the topic.

“It is all about using ceremony to get through and go forward,” Laiblin said. “I think it is a really important thing for everyone to do because everyone has a different way of doing it.”

The series will be done in partnership with “Run with Los Muertos” as part of “CV Days of Los Muertos,” a multi-day observance of Dia de Los Muertos in the Coachella Valley.
