Fire breaks out at abandoned home in Coachella
A fire broke out at an abandoned home three blocks away from Coachella City Hall.
The fire was reported at a little past 8:30 at 1600 block of 8th st in Coachella.
A neighbor said she was arriving home when she saw smoke in the area. As she got closer, she saw flames coming from the abandoned home and called 911.
Firefighters knocked the fire down in 30 minutes but deemed the building to be unsafe and no trespassing signs were posted.
The neighbor said the home has been abandoned for years.
The fire caused $75,000 in damages, no injuries reported, according to Cal Fire.
