Businesses cash in on Film Festival crowds
The Palm Springs International Film Festival is coming to a close, but not before businesses benefit from all the movie lovers in town.
Sherman’s Deli is just down the street from Regal Cinemas. The patio packed Sunday morning and and there was a wait to get a table.
“It increases tremendously, actually it’s been growing every year. And this year is actually the busiest,” said General Manager Jesse Moreno.
But they know what to expect, so they make sure they’re ready.
“We always want to be prepared so the guests who come in to the deli have a great experience,” Moreno said.
Out-of-town guests are frequenting the local restaurants and shops.
“We go to Sherman’s often ’cause it’s close by here and we can get out very quickly,” said Paul Damrow from Walnut Creek.
Damrow said he knows they’re helping the local economy when they eat out.
