Toddler dies after being found in pool
A toddler from Indio died Sunday night after a near-drowning in a backyard pool.
Riverside County Coroner’s office publicly identified the toddler as one-year-old Diego Torres. Cal Fire, Riverside County officials said firefighters were called to a possible drowning around 12:08 p.m. in the 43500 block of Brahea Court.
Details into how the boy found his way into the pool are unknown, but the toddler was taken to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital by a ground ambulance. The Indio Police Department is investigating the child’s death.
