Student Athlete of the Week – Tatiana Woodworth

La Quinta girls’ soccer standout Tatiana Woodworth may wind up as the best player in program history, which is saying something given the strong tradition the Blackhawks have on the pitch.

From Tatiana Woodworth wearing the Blackhawks uniform in sunny Southern California, to next fall going to begin a career as a Toledo Rocket.

“I’ve never really experienced that cold.” Student athlete of the week Tatiana Woodworth said.

Nearly a decade and a half of mastering her craft.

“I think it takes all of your time you can give, every second. Playing AYSO, All Star Select, club, and high school, I remember it all.” Woodworth added.

Her hard work on the field and her 4.7 GPA has earned her the right to be a division one college athlete.

“Indicative of her mentality of always trying to set the bar super high, and understanding the work, time management, and effort to achieve those kind of goals.” Tom Woodworth, Tatiana’s dad and assistant coach said.

“I could score a million goals but if I know I am not playing the best of my ability it is not good enough.” Tatiana stated.

Her goals don’t just stop on the soccer field because while she is kicking more goals at Toledo she will chase her dream of being a doctor.

“Enjoy biology and helping people so that was something I was always interested in.” Woodworth said.

“I have always just wanted her to be a well rounded, successful, and happy woman. I think she is well on her way to that. That is what I am most proud of.” Her dad added.

From a knee injury that added a bump in the road.

“ACL and my meniscus was very devastating to me. I just knew the second that I could walk or run I wanted to put in as much effort to come back even better than before. I feel like my recovery was really strong and feel happy to be back out here playing again.” Woodworth said of her knee injury

Well on her way now to becoming the leading scorer in La Quinta history by seasons end and one of the best this program has ever seen.

“I understand that there were some great players always above me and they mentored me to be the best I could be always.” Tatiana finished.
