Entertainment options at the BNP Paribas Open

The 2018 BNP Paribas Open is underway at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens and fans are looking forward to good matches.

“Looking to see Roger and Serena. I’m excited to see Serena back,” said Joe Estacio, who is visiting from Clovis.

While the tennis is drawing fans to the tournament, some are looking to do some shopping.

“I need nothing but tennis clothing, it’s huge,” said

The on-site FILA store has a wide range of clothes on sale, giving fans the chance to dress up like their favorite tennis stars while getting much-needed protection from the sun.

“That’s something that’s very important in the marketplace especially here in the Coachella Valley. SPF 50 is the way to go,” said Lauren Mallon, who was visiting the store.

If you’re in the mood for music, there will be concerts, featuring musical acts such the Bryan Brothers Band, consisting of the most accomplished sibling doubles team in tennis.

Fans can also try their luck at a much smaller type of tennis.

“Brought my two boys. They’re 8 and 9. Having a great time especially, playing some ping pong you know. The other activities are keeping them occupied during the day,” said Lina Taylor who is visiting from San Diego.

The gates open for fans at 10 am, with the first matches starting at 11 am this week.

Officials are only revealing a special Grammy-winning artist will be performing a concert on the day of the Sunday final.
