Palm Springs police searching for suspect after stolen vehicle pursuit

Palm Springs Police is searching for a suspect who led officers on a stolen vehicle pursuit through the city. The suspects ended up fleeing into an apartment complex.

Officer said it all started with a stolen vehicle pursuit that began on North Palm Canyon and Tachevah drive just before 1:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The pursuit eventually led them south into the Smoke Tree Apartment complex. Police say the suspects drove through the gates of that complex and then got out and ran.

A woman inside the car was caught after found hiding in the complex. Officers say the she was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant unrelated to the pursuit. Police are still searching for the driver, described as a possible Hispanic male.

The vehicle was reported stolen out of the City of Brea in Orange County the day before.
