One injured in suspected DUI crash in Hemet
HEMET, Calif. – A person suspected of drunkenly driving an SUV on the wrong side of the road and then slamming into a utility pole in Hemet was injured today.
The solo-vehicle crash occurred at about 2:50 a.m. on Florida Avenue between California Avenue and Warren Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses told the CHP that the Jeep had been heading in the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes of Florida Avenue just before the crash.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized.
It was unclear if the driver was arrested, and the CHP was investigating the crash.
