Girlfriend remembers man killed in weekend crash

Marco Brambila, 24 of Coachella and Salvador Meza, 23, of Indio were killed Saturday morning in a two-car crash on Harrison Street and Avenue 68 in Thermal.

Jasmine Aguilar, Brambila’s longtime girlfriend, spoke with News Channel 3 about the tragedy.

“I got a call from his mom telling me I needed to get here and I could hear it in her voice that something was wrong and as soon as I pulled up I could see family members crying outside and I looked in her eyes and I already knew. I just broke down,” Aguilar said.

Aguilar said she and Brambila had been together for nearly a decade, They first met in high school. The pair has a four-year-old son together and a baby on the way.

Brambila and Meza were on their way home from Mexicali when the crash happened. Three other people were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
