Brush fire breaks out near Mecca
A brush fire has broken out in the area of Avenue 66 and Highway 111 near Mecca.
The fire, which was reported around 10:11 a.m., is currently burning in an area of medium brush along the Mecca/Thermal border, according to Cal Fire.
Roads in the area of the blaze are being shut down for public use and are being reserved for emergency vehicles.
Five Cal Fire fire engines are on scene battling the fire.
