Basketball tournament raises funds for Desi Strong Foundation

On Saturday, many people in the Coachella Valley gathered to watch or play basketball in the Fourth Annual “Ballin’ for Desi” basketball tournament.

The games were from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to support the “Desi Strong Foundation” and they took place at Xavier College Prep School.

Olivia Sale, who is the family advocate for the Desi Strong Foundation spoke with News Channel 3 about the event and how it will help the foundation.

“Our foundation raises awareness and funds for a cure for childhood cancer, and we are actually currently assisting 29 local families right now that are going through cancer,” she said.

The Desi Strong Foundation helps families financially and with emotional support. All of the money raised in concessions and raffle tickets goes towards those families they are currently working with.
