Coronavirus testing site opening in Cathedral City
Residents will be able to get tested for coronavirus in Cathedral City starting Monday, May 18, the Cathedral City Fire Department announced on Thursday.

A walk-in clinic will be set up at the Cathedral City Library located at 33520 Date Palm Drive. Testing will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
You can set up an appointment by calling (800)945-6171. Schedulers speak both English and Spanish.

When a patient arrives, staff will confirm their information and complete the test. All residents will receive a contact from the County EOC regarding their results.
Staff will ask for insurance information. According to the city's news release, this is because all insurance companies will for pay for their client's testing due to the CARES Act.
Testing is free for those without insurance as well.

There are other testing sites in Indio, Blythe, Perris, Riverside, and Lake Elsinore. Testing is available to all residents, even those without symptoms.

- Repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus, according to the CDC.
