Five people, including two children, injured in Indio rollover crash
Five people were hurt in a rollover crash in Indio, including two children who suffered serious injuries, officials said.
The solo vehicle crash was reported about 9:50 a.m. in the area of Avenue 40 and Monroe Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Two of the vehicle's five occupants were ejected, officials said.
Three people -- including the two children whose ages were not specified -- suffered serious injuries, while the other occupants suffered injuries described as minor to moderate, a county fire spokeswoman confirmed.
Two patients requiring immediate treatment were airlifted to an area hospital, officials said.
The intersection of Avenue 40 and Monroe Street was closed for nearly 10 hours. The roadway was reopened at 7:20 p.m.
