Rabbit Fire in Lakeview burns 8,283 acres, 45% contained

All evacuation orders have been reduced to warnings, Cal Fire announced.
All other areas in an evacuation WARNING are now lifted. All roads are now open.
The fire remains at 8,283 acres with 45% containment. Full containment is expected by Friday.

Cal Fire announced the fire has grown to 8,283 acres with 45% containment.
The fire is expected to be contained by Friday. Southbound Highway 79 from Gillman Springs Road to Beaumont Avenue will be reopened at 4AM on Tuesday, Cal Fire confirmed.

The fire has burned to 7,950 acres and is now 35% contained. Road closures, evacuation orders, and warnings remain in place.

The fire remains 7,600 acres and is now 25% contained. Road closures, evacuation orders, and warnings remain in place.
According to Cal Fire, road closures in the area are changing.
Roads re-opening:
- Northbound Highway 79 between Gilman Springs and Beaumont Avenue will reopen at 4:00 a.m. Monday.
- Gilman Springs between Alessandro and Lamb Canyon will reopen at 4:00 a.m. Monday.
Roads staying closed:
- Southbound Highway 79 between California Avenue and Gilman Springs, County Landfill Road, and Bridge Street between Gilman Springs and Ramona Expressway.

One injury has been reported in the Rabbit fire.
It is now 10% contained, and remains burning at 7,600 acres. All evacuation orders, warnings and road closures remain in place.

That blaze burning in the Lakeview area near Jack Rabbit Trail and Gilman Springs Road is now at 600 acres, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

This is the third major fire burning in the west end of Riverside County.
- In Beaumont, the Highland Fire has burned 225 acres with 0% containment (As of 5:30 PM). The fire is burning about 15 miles away from the Lakeview fire.
- The Reche Fire burning near Moreno Valley is at 400 acres with 0% containment.
