Ribbon cutting opens newly renovated sports courts at Bagdouma Park

The City of Coachella is celebrating the opening of the sports courts at Bagdouma Park on Thursday.

The sports courts went through major renovations. The updates include a new fiber-mesh concrete slab, new benches, updates to the basketball goal posts and the hoop assemblies, installation of tennis and pickleball posts, nets, and new striping in Coachella Valley High School's school colors green and yellow.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is officially opening the courts to the public.

It will be at 7:30 p.m. and residents are invited to enjoy free food, giveaways, and raffles.

There will also be a live pickleball exhibition game and demonstration by the USA Pickleball Association and Desert Recreation District.

Updates to the sports court are just part of a larger renovation project at Bagdouma Park.

Next, the park will see upgrades to the bathrooms, and the installation of a new bathroom as well.
