Following Hilary, Home Depot employees shoveled mud out that blocked cars and pathways in Cathedral City

Local employees of Home Depot have been shoveling mud in Cathedral City since Wednesday. A Home Depot official says they have dug out ten cars from garages and driveways in the past two days.

"We are Team Depot and the Home Depot Foundation; we're out here trying to help the community clear out as much mud so people can leave their homes, clear driveways and pathways, help free some vehicles so people can leave this area during this disaster," says Rancho Mirage Home Depot manager, Joshua Waddill.

If you want to help, go to Vista Chino and Panorama and speak with The Salvation Army representative. If you are a Home Depot employee, you can contact your store manager to learn more about Team Depot.

Message from the City:

Due to the heat and concerns for the safety of volunteers, while the City's Public Works crews are actively clearing Horizon Road, we are asking that volunteers not self-deploy to the neighborhood until the heavy equipment and major street clearance can be completed.

If organizations wish to organize groups of volunteers to help residents affected by the disaster, please contact 760-202-2446 and leave your information.

The community provides relief during a tragic time for those impacted by Hilary.
