Minor injured after off-road motorcycle crashes into mailbox in Cathedral City
A minor was injured following a mailbox crash involving off-road motorcycles and a Sunline bus in Cathedral City Friday afternoon.
The crash was reported at a little after 5:00 p.m. on Vista Chino near Avenida Maravilla.
Police told News Channel 3 that two off-road motorcycles were traveling west on Vista Chino in the eastbound lanes against traffic. The bus swerved to avoid a collision with one of the bikes and the bike collided into a cement mailbox stand.
The rider, a juvenile, sustained injuries to the leg. The juvenile was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police said both motorcycles were impounded as it is illegal to operate them on the roadway and neither had a driver’s license.
