Eisenhower Health, Desert Regional Medical Center welcome Leap Day babies a few minutes apart
Eisenhower Health and Desert Regional Medical Center welcomed Leap Day babies!
The Eisenhower Family Birth Center in Rancho Mirage welcomed its first-ever Leap Day baby!
Parents Naomie and Dr. Kevin Wong welcomed their son Noah at 9:12 a.m. Thursday morning. Officials said Baby Noah and his mom are doing just fine.
Since its opening in 2021, the Eisenhower Family Birth Center has delivered more than 3,000 babies, and is proud to have delivered its first Leap Baby, also known as "leapling" or "leaper."
Just six minutes after baby Noah was born in Rancho Mirage, Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs welcomed baby Leo Lozano. He was born on February 29 at 9:18 am, weighing 9 lbs 11 oz and 20 ½ inches long.
Parents Melissa Lozano and Jorge De Santiago now have two holiday babies — one on Leap Year and one on Valentine's Day! Leo will soon join his 10 brothers and 4 sisters at their home in Mecca.
Mom and Dad have already decided to celebrate Leo's birthday on Feb.28 on those years that aren’t a leap year. That’s because Feb. 28 is the day they celebrate their anniversary!
According to the Social Security Administration, the chances of being born on February 29 are one in 1,461, which equates to roughly five million people worldwide.
