Coachella Valley hotels provide shelter for wildfire evacuees

Several local hotels are extending discounted rates to fire evacuees.

Infusion Beach Club, located in Palm Springs, is offering a low-rate option to those displaced by the wildfire.

Cherie Walters, Infusion Beach Club's general manager, said about 5 evacuees have checked into the hotel.

"The others didn't want to go to Los Angeles. Everybody's going to be there the hustle and bustle," Walters said. "If you're going to be away you might as well be in Palm Springs."

Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage

Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage is offering evacuated families off-market pricing on accommodations.

David Heath, assistant general manager, said a block of rooms from the retail inventory is being set aside for residents displaced by these wild fires.

"For the people that are affected in the Running Springs, Lake Arrowhead and surrounding areas in response to those fires," Heath said.

He said people evacuating in these areas can call 1-800-854-1279 for reservations and that rooms are available on a first come first serve basis.

Holiday Inn Express Palm Desert

In a statement to News Channel 3, Holiday Inn Express Palm Desert's Craig Gilmore, general manager, said:
